On a day where the Longhorns needed a strong performance from both the offense and defense to beat the Iowa State Cyclones, that is exactly what they got. Texas started the game off by scoring 20 unanswered points before allowing a touchdown with 41 seconds left in the first half and followed that with 13 more points unanswered. The win puts the Longhorns to 8-2 matching last year's win total and moving them to 5-2 in conference play and currently sit 3rd in the Big 12 Standings. Next up is a Thanksgiving night matchup former SWC mate and new Big 12 member TCU. The Horned Frogs were stung by Kansas State this last week and will use the much needed long week for rest and after some key players went down with injuries.
