In a game that wasn't the best played of the season, the Longhorns may have saved their best play for the 4th quarter. The offense and defense played lights out in the final frame and scored 14 unanswered points to come from behind to beat the Oregon State Beavers 31-27 in the 2012 Valero Alamo Bowl in San Antonio.
Just like most of the season, the play by the Longhorns was inconsistent, great at times, horrible at times, dumbfounding at times and how did he do that? at times as well. The offense tried to hit a long pass all night and seemed to come up short and then down 27-24 with 2 minutes left in the game David Ash dialed it up one more time and hit Marquise Goodwin in the end zone on a 36 yard bomb.
The win sends the Longhorns into the offseason on a high note and their 9th win of the season.
Passing – David Ash – 21/33, 241 yds, 2 TDs, 1 INT
Rushing – Marquise Goodwin – 1 Car, 64 yds, 1 TD, David Ash – 7 Car, 22 yds, 1 TD
Recieving – Jaxon Shipley – 8 Rec, 88 yds, Marquise Goodwin – 4 Rec, 68 yds, 1 TD
